Prof. Weijia Jia, IEEE Fellow, Distinguished Member of CCF

Beijing Normal University at Zhuhai, China

BIO:Weijia Jia is currently a Chair Professor and Director of the Joint AI and Future Networking Research Institute of Beijing Normal University (BNU, Zhuhai) and United International College (UIC), Zhuhai, Guangdong, China. He also serves as the VP for Research at UIC China. Before joining BNU/UIC, he served as the Deputy Director of the State Kay Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City at the University of Macau and Zhiyuan Chair Professor at Shanghai Jiaotong University, PR China. He received his BSc/MSc degrees from Center South University, China in 1982 and 1984, and his a PhD degree from Polytechnic Faculty of Mons, Belgium in 1993, all in computer science. Between 1993 to 1995, he joined the German National Research Center for Information Science (GMD) in Bonn (St. Augustine) as a research fellow. From 1995 to 2013, he served at the City University of Hong Kong as a professor. His contributions have been recognized for the research of optimal network routing and deployment, vertex cover, anycast and multicast protocols, sensors networking, knowledge relation extractions, NLP, and intelligent edge computing. He has over 600 publications in prestigious international journals/conferences, including papers, books, and book chapters. He has received the best product awards from the International Science & Tech. Expo (Shenzhen) in 2011/2012 the 1st Prize of Scientific Research Awards from the Ministry of Education of China in 2017 and many provincial science and tech awards. He has served as an area editor for various prestige international journals, chair, and PC member/keynote speaker for many top international conferences. He is the Fellow of IEEE and the Distinguished Member of CCF.

Prof. Adrian David Cheok,  IET Fellow,  Member (AM) of the Order of Australia

BIO: Adrian David Cheok AM FIET FIEAust FRSA is Full Professor at Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, Director of the Imagineering Institute, Malaysia, Visiting Professor at Raffles University, Malaysia, Visiting Professor at University of Novi Sad-Serbia, on Technical faculty “Mihailo Pupin”, Serbia, Faculty of Ducere Business School, and CEO of Nikola Tesla Technologies Corporation.

In 2024, Professor Adrian David Cheok was honored with induction as a Full Member into Sigma Xi USA, The Scientific Research Honor Society, a recognition that not only signifies his dedication to scientific excellence but also aligns his contributions with those of groundbreaking researchers. Sigma Xi is a beacon of distinction within the global scientific community, boasting over 200 Nobel Laureates among its members, including luminaries such as Albert Einstein. Prof. P. Takis Mathiopoulos, IEEE Senior Member

National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece

BIO:P. Takis Mathiopoulos received the Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the University of Patras, Greece, in 1979, the Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree with aspecialization in Microwaves and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Ottawa with a specialization in Digital Telecommunications, in 1989, both in Canada.

Since 2014, he holds the position of Professor of Digital Communications, in the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications, University of Athens (UoA). From 2000 - 2014, with the Institute for Space Applications and Remote Sensing (ISARS) at the National Observatory of Athens, in Penteli, Athens, Greece, first as its Director (2000-2004) and then Director of Research. From 1989-2003, he was with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of British Columbia (UBC), in Canada, holding the rank of Professor from 1999-2003.

Over the years, he has supervised 3 groups (at UBC, ISARS and UoA) with R&D activities in the field of “Wireless Communications”, with emphasis on research dealing with physical layer problems for both satellite and terrestrial system applications. He has participated as a partner and Principal Investigator (PI) in 7 European, 12 Greek, and 15 Canadian projects, with a total budget of more than 3M€, funded by the European Commission, European Space Agency (ESA) and the Greek and Canadian government. These include SatNEx and SatNEx-II, which were funded by the EC, SatNEx-III and OFDM Technique for Broadband Satellite Systems funded by the European Space Agency, Sensor Networks and MIMO Studies funded by the General Secretariat of Research and Technology (GRST), Greece.

Prof. Dave Towey HEA Fellow, IEEE / ACM Senior Member

Head of School of Computer Science, The University of Nottingham-Ningbo, China

BIO:Professor Dave Towey received the BA and MA degrees in computer science, linguistics, and languages from the University of Dublin, Trinity College, Ireland; the MEd degree in education leadership from the University of Bristol, U.K.; and the PhD degreein computer science from The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong S.A.R., China. He has been with University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) since 2013, where he serves as the head of the School of Computer Science, and as deputy director of the International Doctoral Innovation Centre. He previously served as the associate dean of education and student experience for the Faculty of Science and Engineering. His current research interests include software testing (especially adaptive random testing, for which he was amongst the earliest researchers who established the field, and metamorphic testing) and technology-enhanced education. He co-founded the ICSE International Workshop on Metamorphic Testing in 2016. He is a fellow of the HEA, and a senior member of the ACM and IEEE.
